How Low Will the Antisemites Go?

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "How Low Will the Antisemites Go?"

We are witnessing a modern-day blood libel against the Jewish people, a perverse and absurd campaign that blames Jews for events they had no hand in, casts them as the architects of all global evils, and perpetuates the tired trope of omnipotent control over humanity. This litany of blame spans centuries—from the crucifixion of Jesus by the Romans, to the tragic yet mistaken attack on the USS Liberty amid the chaos of the 1967 war, to the assassination of JFK by lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald, and even the 9/11 attacks orchestrated by Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda henchmen. The scope of evils falsely pinned on the Jewish community is staggering, encompassing acts explicitly forbidden by our faith—usury, pedophilia—and even sprawling socio-political and economic ideologies like communism, stretching from Russia to China, North Korea, Cuba, and beyond. Most outrageously, Jews—who constitute less than 0.2% of the world’s population—are accused of wielding dominion over media, banking, governments, and, absurdly, even the weather itself.

Since October 7, the venom has intensified, with Jew-haters hurling charges of genocide, infanticide, and a litany of war crimes against Israel. These accusations persist despite the undeniable truth: the war in Gaza was initiated by Hamas, a terrorist organization that has constructed hundreds of miles of terror tunnels, cynically embedded itself in schools, mosques, hospitals, and homes, and provoked a conflict that, remarkably, has resulted in the lowest civilian-to-combatant casualty ratio of any urban warfare in history.

Never Mirror the Darkness We Oppose

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Never Mirror the Darkness We Oppose."

In that instant, I recognized that our conflict transcends a mere battle for survival and a defense of democracy and civilization against terrorism and barbarism. It is also a profound struggle for our very essence. In confronting terrorists and their sympathizers, we must remain vigilant that in asserting our beliefs and defending ourselves, we do not succumb to their level. I desire to contribute constructively, but I refuse to emulate the hateful and reprehensible behavior they exhibit.

Pogrom in Amsterdam 2024

Sickening Pogrom in Amsterdam by mobs of Jihadi Terrorists attacking Jewish men, women, and children who came to watch a soccer match. Jewish people brutally run over by cars, beaten unconscious, attacked with fists and sticks, and thrown in train tracks. Amsterdam authorities and police ignored warnings and let it happen. This is the radical agenda of anarchy, hatred, and violence coming to your city too soon.

Why Jews Are Concerned About Kamala Harris

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Why Jews Are Concerned About Kamala Harris".

Kamala Harris presents herself as someone who is evenhanded, but her actions raise a lot of questions that must be answered for the sake of the safety of the Jewish community.

In just the past few months, Harris has chastised Israel for defending itself, disrespected Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, normalized terrorism, and legitimized anti-Semitism.

Trump has voiced surprise at how any Jews could still vote for Kamala in 2024, one who favors pro-Hamas terrorists over their longtime ally and friend, Israel. I can tell you from my conversations with other Jewish people that, while many have been skeptical of the far right, they are becoming more concerned than ever about the radical left.

Hotbed for AntiSemitism

Jewish man viciously surrounded in DC by Pro Hamas Terrorists.

So much for the constitution, I guess freedom and rights in America don't apply to Jews any longer!

Law enforcement does nothing.

Politicians are sympathetic and approving.

Bystanders don't care or maybe they are enjoying watching it.

More Than "Just" a Magen David

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "More Than 'Just' a Magen David."

Our response to antiSemitism and hate should be to embrace our Jewish identity all the more. In the words of the singer Benny Friedman:
I'm a Jew and I'm proud
And I'll sing it out loud
'Cuz forever
And ever
That's what I'll be
I'm a Jew and I'm proud
And without a doubt
Hashem is always watching over me
We are truly in the middle of a global attack on the Jewish people, and we cannot give up even one centimeter in our quest for freedom, peace, and security.

They Are the Racists

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "They Are the Racists."

This past Independence Day, a disgraceful, vile shadow fell over our celebrations. We witnessed so-called "protests" erupt again in violence, filled with smoke bombs, flag burning, and calls for intifada, "death to America," and violent jihad "by any means necessary." These weren't demonstrations for change; they were hateful displays demanding the overthrow of our nation and its core values.

We are a nation built on inclusion and respect for diverse opinions. But tolerance has its limits. When our communities, campuses, and cities are overrun by those who seek to tear down everything we've built, we must act.

Those who are here illegally or are on visas and cannot live peacefully forfeit the right to remain here. Deportation is a necessary conversation, a way to protect our nation from those who threaten its very core.

Campus Protests: Time to Pay the Piper

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Campus Protests: Time to Pay the Paper."

Right now, hate-filled anarchists, Marxists, and radicals are foaming and frothing at the mouth, very sure of themselves, and giving phony press conferences, posting “legal observers,” and surrounding and terrorizing innocent people, while the authorities and law enforcement seem to do little to nothing.

Every one of these bad actors has had their fun and lived out their fantasy of independence and “saving the world” (not!) and now it is time when they will pay the piper for their knowing misdeeds. The parents, institutions, “professors,” and our politicians need to wake up now, restore truth and order, and salvage what is left of the shattered credibility and lives of these unfortunate and misguided souls.

Jewish Students and Faculty Must Sue

Please see my new articles in The Times of Israel called "Jewish Students and Faculty Must Sue."

We have all been following the horrific news and video clips coming out of our American universities of blatant antisemitism coupled with intimidation, harassment, barring of access, and violence from Hamas terrorist protesters against Jewish students and faculty under the false guise of blaring calls for Palestinian freedom “from the river to the sea.”

As our enemies gleefully chant, “There is only one solution, intifada revolution” and “by any (violent, abhorrent) means necessary,” we must answer with our “one solution” and that is to hold accountable the corrupt and even criminal institutions and leadership that are openly permitting this to occur.

The Canary in the Antisemitic Coal Mine

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "The Canary in the Antisemitic Coal Mine."

Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night disturbed by the very real nightmare about the rising anti-Semitism from dangerous Hamas supporters in our midst, this occurring less than 80 years after the end of the Holocaust, which saw the murder of six million Jews.

Day after day, week after week now, we see the vile Hamas terrorist supporters acting out in public, screaming, cursing, threatening, blocking, harassing, burning flags, pushing, prodding, and violently attacking others (i.e., Zionists and Jews). In any normal situation, the police would be there protecting the innocent, stopping the harassment, and arresting the violent agitators. But these days, what do we see? The police seem to be doing virtually nothing to stop them.

Without any serious consequences from our law enforcement, courts, or politicians, we can expect things to continue to escalate and get more dangerous.

Two Ways to Make Someone Feel Worthless

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Two Ways to Make Someone Feel Worthless."

Actions may be bad, but most people aren't inherently bad, and no one deserves to be verbally, emotionally, or physically abused or treated by society with abject indifference. This is especially the case when it comes to helpless children, no one—whether parents, teachers, bullies, etc.—should be abusive to them. Children need safe, nurturing, and loving people and the environment around them that enable them to learn and grow to be the best people that they can be without being put down for mistakes they make, limitations they may have, or just being flawed human beings as we all are. Similarly, adults and workers should not be mistreated just because they are on your dime and can be. They have an inherent right to equality and to be treated with respect and dignity. There are no dumb questions or stupid mistakes when a person is trying their best.

When Politics Gets Personal

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "When Politics Gets Personal."

Not unlike the deep political divide in Israel over Judicial Reform, this week’s U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down college affirmative action following their prior ruling overturning Roe v. Wade has once again brought to the forefront the huge political divide in this country. Further, the polarization and bitterness between the right and left from the 2020 election are still simmering as we approach the next presidential election in 2024. Underneath all the day-to-day niceties, there seems to be a latent powder keg in our electorate, especially if the next election is a repeat between Trump and Biden.

In this context, I must admit that I had a run-in with someone this week who sits on the other side of the political spectrum from me. And maybe, as they say, it's best not to talk too much about religion or politics, just for the reasons I am about to convey.

Ten ‘Points to Ponder’

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Ten 'Points to Ponder'."

My dear father, Fred Blumenthal (ZT”L), like many from his generation, used to read Reader’s Digest. I remember that there was a section called “Points to Ponder,” which I thought was a good title for things that can have a deeper and more profound meaning in our lives. So in this vein, I’d like to share a variety of thoughts that may give you pause to ponder as well.

From Outrage to Action on Anti-Semitism

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "From Outrage to Action on Anti-Semitism."

What is striking to me is that when it comes to hate against the Jews as opposed to hate against other groups, we continually see that “their” rights are immediately supported, while we have to prove that it’s really hate.
Hopefully, our community leaders, police, FBI, and Homeland Security are paying close attention and will take appropriate preventive action so that we can avoid another incident like the shooting just four years ago at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We need more intelligence, surveillance, officers, patrols, data-driven policing, self-defense and emergency medical training, synagogue protection, community outreach, beefed-up reporting systems, and tougher penalties to start with. We can’t expect the people who hate to stop, but we do need to keep raising the bar on how to keep our communities safe and stop hate crimes.

Terror In Israel: Time To Take Out The Trash

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Terror in Israel: Time To Take Out The Trash."

Passover, which is the holiday of liberation and freedom, is also when we must acknowledge that hate and terror is inconsistent with faith and holiness. The terrorists impinge on our freedom to live as a free people in our own land. On Passover, we must renew ourselves with the strength, determination, and perseverance to rid ourselves of the chametz, not only as represented by food but metaphysically by those filled with haughtiness, intolerance, hate, and violence towards us.

Russia’s Aggression Proves Iran Must Be Stopped

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Russia's Aggression Proves Iran Must Be Stopped."

As countries, responsible and rogue, pursue ever increasing and deadlier nuclear weapons (as well as deadly biological and chemical weapons), the chances grow for a unilateral bilateral, or multilateral exchange to take place. Whether from a brutal tyrant wanting to grow their base of corrupt power to a rampaging megalomaniac bent of world domination, a paranoid schizophrenic leader who feels that his “back is up against the wall,” or a radical theocratic crackhead convinced that G-d is on their side and wants them to kill all the infidels, we are inching ever closer to the day when nukes or other weapons of mass destruction will be out of the silo, port container, or suitcase.

It is time to finally and fully acknowledge the growing threat especially from Iran and take the necessary preemptive action to stop them before they follow Russia’s dangerous playbook to even greater global malice and consequence.
