Royalty On An Elephant

Wow, this is so regal.

This princess in a beautiful overflowing pink gown.

Riding on a golden throne on the back of an huge elephant.

The elephant with white tusks is covered in royal red robes with a blue, green, and orange emblem of a serpent.

Fairy tale maybe, but this seems so real to me.

I want to wave and jump up and down and say, "your majesty!"  ;-)

Woman In Gold, Gold, and More Gold

What an amazing painting featured in the movie, Woman In Gold.

The painting is called the Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer I and was commissioned by her adoring husband.

That face! And surrounded by everything in gold yet you can still clearly make out her stunning dress.

I've never seen anything like this: the vividness and the majesty of it.

Honestly, I think there is a resemblance to my beautiful mother, Gerda Blumenthal who was also from Germany.

The interesting history on this is that it was stolen by the Nazis from the Jewish owners in the Holocaust, but was finally returned to their family in America that succeeded in suing Austria for it back.

This is truly one of the greats! ;-)

Stained Glass Majesty

There is something about stained glass which is so beautiful and amazing.

It's not only artistic and colorful, but also it's a magical combination of opaqueness and translucence.

It provides cover and privacy from the outside world, yet it plays with the light that comes in through it to give a wonderful effect to any room.

If I could, I would make every room in every building with stained glass.

I would bask in the light and the color.

It would feel warm and holy--the light of G-d on me.

It's as if G-d and His holy host are streaming in from the Heavens, and surrounding me all about.

I feel lifted up in space and time stops, all is safe and wonderful in the world.

Beautiful and holy spiritual energy celebrating, dancing, and singing all around me. ;-)

I Love Cherry Blossoms

Just wanted to take today to express my undying love for Cherry Blossoms.

How unbelievably magnificent they are.

Pink pedals blossoming and beautiful.

G-d's creations in nature that make us in awe of his majesty.

It is almost too gorgeous to be real.

To look up at these is more beautiful than I can possibly have words for.

Thank you G-d for giving these to us every Spring season.

It is truly something to look forward to each year and that which nourishes our souls with a complete array of sensory joy. ;-)

5-Minute Intervals

This was sunrise at 5-minute intervals.

All I can think is how glorious G-d is and how marvelous his creation.

- The light of the L-rd chases the darkness away.

- The might of the L-rd brings forth a new day.

- The right hand of the L-rd shows us all the correct way.

How are your works so majestic indeed.

All we can do is gaze with eyes wide.

Truly the perfection of the L-rd is shown in his creation.

We are blessed to see and experience it.

Every day is a miracle that we have in this world.

Even with pain and sorrow, our soul clings to this life.

Until such time that our Maker calls us home to Him once more.

Then we gasp our last breath and enter his Heavenly abode.

For this world is just a corridor to the true world that is to come.

And so just imagine what that must be like to be even closer to G-d and his endless loving majesty. ;-)

The Arts of Peace

What a gorgeous day in Washington, D.C. today.

Took a little lunchtime walk to enjoy the great city, sipping my Dunkin' along the way.

This picture is of "The Arts of Peace" by James Earle Fraser on the eastern end of The Arlington Memorial Bridge.

On the left is "Music and Harvest" and on the right is "Aspiration and Literature."

These 17' statues are gilded in bronze and are really awesome.

Not far from the Department of State and the United States Institute of Peace.

They invoke true majesty as you enter the Capital of the United States of America.
