Ever Sit On A Cow

Ben and Jerry's has great ice cream and an earthy, peaceful decor.

This cow comes with child's seat is a good use of the store's "real estate."

Both country fresh milk from the cow and a kid-friendly environment too.  ;-)

Nice Accents

Cool black Jeep with red accents.

Subtle but not.

What does it take to pimp a ride?

Red accents are a start.

You still need some real fancy tires.

And don't forget the premium upgrade package!

Otherwise, the ride is just a ride. ;-)

Contrarian on Apple

As Apple approaches the unbelievable $1 trillion mark in market value, I am going the contrarian.

Historically, I love Apple products--truly.

But since Steve Jobs, Apple has done virtually nothing!

They are losing the battle for common sense priced products.

They are losing the battle on innovation.

Think for a second what has Apple come out with that is "WOW" in the last few years--either in terms of new product or design.

Do you care anything about Siri?

Are you in love with their Apple Watch?

Do you think much of their new iPhone X?

What about the computers--same old, same old?

I am still using the iPhone 7plus and have no intention to upgrade anytime soon.

See the picture above, this is Apple's idea of innovation.

It's the new Mac Pro -- virtually the same as their iMac Pro, as their store rep explained to me--except it's shaped like a tall and weird version of the Amazon Alexa personal assistant.

BTW, you still need to attach a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.

Are you impressed NOT?

Apple as a brand used to mean the latest and greatest.

Even now, I am still drawn to Apple products, just because I am conditioned to think of it as the best!

But is it still the best and is it worth the premium price?

Apple still has me as a customer and I am still a big fan of what they have done in the past.

But they better do something amazing again and now, because I think their stock is in for a mighty big and painful tumble if we don't see the old Apple again soon. ;-)

The Makings Of Cold Stone

Gotta hand it to Cold Stone Ice Cream.

They know how it make it cold, sweet, and rich tasting.

Here they are making the signature Cookie Doughn't You Want Some.

French Vanilla Ice Cream

Chocolate Chips

Cookie Dough

Fudge

Caramel

OMG, it is super premium!

And they make it right there in front of you.

As you mouth waters for it, you almost want to just stick you finger in and snatch a bite.

Oh, the simple, sweet pleasures of life. ;-)

Starbucks - BYOF

Okay, this was the second week in a row at Starbucks that I've seen people BYOF.

BYOF = Bring Your Own Food.

This gentleman relaxing on a Sunday has brought his ziplock bag and with some nice looking pound cake at that.

Message to Starbucks...either your food is really bad, overpriced, or perhaps a little of both.

You pride yourself on your coffee and everyone pays a premium for it, but you are slacking on the food side of the coffeehouse.

Seems like a big opportunity--fix your food (finally!) and make gazillions of dollars more off the addicted masses that flock to your coffee havens.

My consulting fee...we can discuss. ;-)

Get Yourself An IT Management Agent

Management agents are not just for Hollywood stars anymore...

Bloomberg BusinessWeek (10 April 2013) says really good freelance application developers are now being represented by IT Management Agents.

One such agent company is called 10X and they represent more than 30 IT stars.

The management agent helps the developers find jobs, negotiate salary and terms, and handle the paperwork letting the IT guys do what they do best--which is code!

10X takes a 15% cut of their client's earnings, but some developers claim 2-3 times the salary they were earning before by using an agent--and rates are climbing to $300 an hour.

Some companies are using these premium talent coders until they can bring on a full hire or when they need some big guns for some special IT project.

Perhaps with agent in tow (and even without), IT folks will start to shed their outdated nerdy image and instead take on some real Hollywood glamour--for the talent they really do bring to the organizational table. ;-)
