Customer Service Don'ts
This mug is a definite Customer Service no-no!

Feels like "Go Away and Come Back Never!" ;-)

Dunkin' Mugs
I love my new Dunkin' Coffee Mugs.
Got one in each color: blue and orange.
Inside the mugs, there is a finger sign "V" (for victory) and it says "Be Awesome".
These oversized mugs are so happy and I can't wait to fill 'em up.
And they really do make me ready to "Wake Up" for a brand new day. ;-)

Mother's Day Trump Mug
Mother's Day appreciation mug for my wife.
I knew she would love it.
- She's a great mom, terrific, beautiful, fantastic.
- Other moms, total disasters, everyone agrees.
Trump says it best.
Happy Mother's Day! ;-)

Owl Mugs
Just wanted to share these three new owl mugs we got.
One is orange, one is brown, and one is light blue.
The eyes are adorable on these cups.
It's almost like a family the way they look together.
All the other coffee/tea cups we have are now officially obsolete.
These are the only ones getting any thirsty attention. ;-)

Team, It's Not About You
This mug on teamwork was really funny.
Teamwork (noun):
1) A group of people doing what I say.
2) Work done that I can take credit for.
Of course, this really isn't teamwork, unless you consider it the "I Team."
Yes, this is sort of sterotypical of bad bosses:
- They take the credit for the team's work when everything goes well.
- But they pass along the blame when something goes wrong.
Has this ever happened to you?
It reminds me of another funny saying about how greedy, narcissistic people think:
"What mine is mine, and what's yours is mine."
In other words--mine, mine, and mine, why thank you!
The best bosses are humble and giving. They make sure everyone knows what the goals are and are working efficiently to achieve them.
The credit goes to the indivudals and team who are working their butts off, and when appropriate, the boss will take the heat to help others save face and enable them to press forward with the mission.
I remember one of my colleagues who is a supervisor and he was called out for doing a great job. Immediately he goes, "It's my team that make me look good." And knowing this person, that wasn't just talk or a show...he was completely sincere.
That's leadership and an impressive human being--someone to emulate!

Balloon Mug
Love this new balloon mug from Starbucks.
Most of their tchotchkes are so ugly or cheap looking, but this mug rocks.
Got this for my daughter, but I want one too.
Reminds me when we went air ballooning in Las Vegas together.
Great memories and a really beautiful mug.
Too nice to drink out of. ;-)

Not For Drinking {Funny}
It's cute in a certain miniaturized way, but I am not sure who would want to drink their coffee from this thing.
Or imagine this, you go to the leadership meeting at your important organization, and there sitting across at the table is the Big Kahuna executive with this mug.
No, it's not a great brand making statement, but it definitely is a conversation piece.
Hey, will they put Starbucks in here, if you ask nicely? ;-)

Zach Galifianakis at 7-Eleven
I think this is probably as close as I will come to seeing Zach Galifianakis.
Someone at 7-Eleven had this awesome coffee mug with Galifianakis's photo on the side.
That face is pretty hilarious--he doesn't even have to say anything and you sort of start laughing!
And The Hangover Part III is coming out next week...
Fill'er up Zach with lots of fun and comedy.
I'll drink a good coffee at 7-Eleven to that. ;-)

Down In The Dumps
This is a display at a retailer in posh Rockville, Maryland.
As crazy as these mugs are including their $4 price tag, what adds to this comical scene is that there is the broom leaning up against the stack on the right, which I suppose you would rightfully need if these mugs were accurate.
I am sitting here thinking (briefly--very) about what exactly the social commentary is for these nasty mugs, and I believe that this is about people wanting to let down their (no, not their pants!) facade of perfection and propriety and having to do everything right at work and at home, and just instead for a while being silly, crude, and even (a little) stupid.
It's like the person who says the most inappropriate thing at the most inappropriate time and says, "Did I say that?" And everyone starts laughing as the tension of the moment is swept away.
I think to some extent we all need that...to break the tension of the everyday rat race we live, and to give everyone pause to just say or do something a little silly and for everyone just to laugh it off. And then the real business can go on with everyone knowing that there are real human beings behind those suits and stone faces.
Anyway, this was probably the strangest display in a retail store I have seen, outside of the Village in New York City, but that's another story. ;-)
