Colorful Drinking

That's an "absolut"ely friendly-looking bottle of vodka.

You drink it one ribbon at a time? ;-)

Starbucks Face-Branded Packaging

Love this new Starbuck's face-branded packaging for their food.

When they line up like this, they look especially friendly and cute.

Also, looks like some happy customers, indeed.

Starbucks may not have the world's absolutely best coffee, but their branding is really awesome! ;-)

Take Your Head Out of My Shopping Cart

So this was funny today at Harris Teeter.

I'm checking out on the express line with a few things.

First some tofu.

The lady at the cash register goes:
Hmm.  Healthy!

Then some Meal Mart Buffalo Style Chicken Wings.

Again, the lady at the cash register comments:
Have you tried that?  Is it good?  It looks good!

Politely, I replied:
Yes, they are really good.

At the same time I was feeing smart-alecy, like what the heck, should I open the package on the conveyer belt and let you taste one--right here, right now.

Sure privacy is a big issue when it comes to technology, social media, and all sorts of surveillance these days

But even when one simply goes to the grocery store--there is the very basic privacy about what one is buying.

Yes, I see people looking into my cart, with eyebrows raised eyeing my goodies.  I can hear them thinking:
What is he buying?  Is it marked Kosher? (Uh, actually it is!]  That doesn't seem like a balanced diet!

Another time, the checkout person asked me when I was buying a bunch of something:
Oh, are you having a party? What's the occasion?

While I appreciate the good-natured banter and people being friendly, it seems more than weird in a way to be discussing what I'm buying, why, and for whom.

Not quite Big Brother, but maybe that's the leftover small town feel in our lonely urban and high-tech living.  ;-)

Cat Nap

What a great place to take a cat nap!

So many gorgeous cats in Israel.

They don't run away either.

So friendly and happy.

Sort of got a feeling like they were old souls inhabiting these cats.

Old souls are very often wise souls.

Cute and wise cats.

Enjoy!

Feeling Good Vibes

So what a nice compliment...

I'm talking with someone this week.

They're new, and so I tried to be generally nice and ask about them, show interest, and just be overall friendly and welcoming.

It was amazing--these little things, and they made someone else feel comfortable and happy.

They are smiling and go to me:
"I get good vibes from you!"

Wow, good vibes--awesome!

And now I was happy too.

I thought to myself, how often we goof and give off the wrong vibes and how easy it really is to just treat most people decently and sincerely, and get a good reaction.

Yes, not everyone is easy to get along with and not everyone is nice.

But generally, I think it's good to try to be the type of person that others feel good vibes from.

I'll take that and continue to try and spread the wealth. ;-)

Three Types of Personality Verts

It's funny, we were out with some other people for dinner.

At one point, the conversion turned to the personality types (in terms of sociability) at the table.

One person said, "I'm an extrovert!" - they were so proud that they are expressive and outgoing.

Another person goes, "I'm an introvert!" - they were equally proud that they are thoughtful and more reticent.

A third person then says, "I'm just antisocial!" - they were half laughing and have serious that they are not sociable and even a little antagonistic to others.

That's when I came up with the new antisocial term, called an antivert!

Looking up that word on google to see if it already existed, I see someone has used it to brand an antihistamine for preventing and treating motion sickness and vertigo -- hence from vertigo, this medicine is an antivert.

If you think of antisocial people as a little of balance or off-kilter and eccentric, then the word antivert works both to treat vertigo as well as to describe people that are the antisocial personality type. ;-)

A Beauty In The Downtown

I took this photo in downtown Washington, D.C.

Right between the limbs of this tree trunk was this amazing yellow flower almost popping up out of nowhere.

It was like "Here I am, enjoy me!"

The more nature we put back into our cities the nicer and friendlier they are.

Nature sooths man's inner beast--and we definitely need more of that. ;-)
