Not quite a gladiator type performance. ;-)

Georgetown View
Like the stone and red brick, the neat little bridges, and the cool retaining wall.
Have Pinstripes bowling on side, "Church" beer garden on the other, and across the street is an AMC movie theater and a promenade along the Potomac River.
On M Street, of course, is all the shopping. Go crazy!
Lot's of people. Tough to park. Nice to visit. ;-)

When We Were Kids
Many moons ago.
Television with rabbit ears in the background.
That's when we all we had were 4 stations ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS.
We called it the "Zombie Box" because you could just stay glued to it for hours and tune the world out mesmerized at the moving pictures.
Everyone knew what was on every station, every hour of the day and still there was a TV Guide published weekly to check.
When the TV went fuzzy, you had to give it a clop on the side and magically the picture cleared up for a few minutes if you were lucky.
Those were the days. ;-)
(Thank you to my sister, Roz, for refreshing a copy of this to me)

Singing Frankie The Fish
At the fish counter at Seven Mile Market in Baltimore, they had Frankie the Fish singing away.
Give me that fish...if it were you in that sandwich you wouldn't be laughing at all.(Credit Video: Andy Blumenthal)

Theater And A Bagel
How can anything "awesome" not be good?
Flying V mixes it up with the arts and culture.
They combine theater with wrestling!
Essentially, this group tries to add adventure and combat to the more staid dramatic performances.
Anything that brings theater more alive is definitely a good thing.
We got to sit in on the event organizers doing a live podcast and could definitely see their enthusiasm for "Shakespeare and training" and becoming a success story.
Anyway, they did have some snacks at the event, and this colorful bagel was definitely the standout. ;-)

@Sandy Spring Museum Music Jam
So nice to see neighbors from the surrounding communities just getting together to play music and sing along.
It's amazing to me the good that people can accomplish when they come together like this.
This is hopeful and happy.

News - Real and Imagined
News--My Brain Hurts.
It's not only the 24/7/365 news cycle that make it often extremely repetitive and monotonous--where "breaking news" is the same news from 5 hours ago-sometimes even from 5 days ago. Ho hum, boring.
But it's also the forced news, where there always has to be a story even when there isn't one worth taking about. Every reporter has to earn their keep too. Oh no, not another cat rescue from a backyard tree!
Hey, in the end its ratings--that drives advertising, which of course pays the bills, so don't hold your breath as to how long we can continue to talk about the 2016 election, the Kavanaugh hearings, the Mueller Investigation, and so on. It's the news gifts that keep on giving and giving.
Sometimes, it's about getting different angles on a story--however, more often it seems like just the same old, same old--how many ways can you say, he did it or he didn't do it?
Then there is the fake news and alternative facts, where if there isn't a story (or one that supports the sponsor's world filter), then maybe--just maybe--we need to create one and get people unsettled or use it for social control (remember the "Echo Chamber"). And for sure, let's not forget the power of a good conspiracy theory! People certainly are gullible, right?
This all reminds me of a famous saying by Lenin:
There are decades when nothing happens, and there are weeks when decades happen.
In some ways maybe it was better to just have the morning and nightly news without all the B.S. in between, because...there are decades when nothing consequential happens.
I guess we all just are waiting around for the weeks when decades happen, but when that sh*t hits the fan, who says there will even be any news to be had.
No wonder, Dilbert says his brain hurts--doesn't yours? ;-)

Every Time I Go Mexico
First, we went for a nice kayak boat ride around the lake.
Then I couldn't help stopping and listening to this relaxing and peaceful music.
These guys were great--I'd pay to listen to them.
Just a bunch of friends getting together to play beautiful music.
This is life as it should be. ;-)

Who Says Flying Can't Be More Enjoyable
This flight attendant is terrific here.
She delivers the typical hum-drum public service announcements in a whole new way--now (maybe) you'll actually pay attention.
Smart cookie and fun sense of humor.
Happy Friday and enjoy!

Improving The Lot and Lives Of Women
I saw this women dancing openly on top of this boat moored to the docks in Florida.
I don't know why she was doing this (simply entertainment?) and whether this was completely out of her free choice (or at all coerced), especially while these 2 guys on board apparently leered and even recorded her.
But it made me think that we definitely need to better respect and improve the lot and lives of women in society.
Yes, beauty is something to be appreciated, but there is also something to be said for modesty and showing proper respect.
Further, while people can be physically attractive, they are not just objects, but rather complex, thoughtful, and productive wonderful human beings.
Each person is a whole world and they bring that to the table of life.
There is much to admire, but women (and men) need to provided every opportunity to break through the glass ceiling and not just dance on it. ;-)

Towel Music Washington DC
It's a hot day in Washington, DC.
But outside the White House, the music is piping.
Even if our politics is murky at times, our songful expression is always loud and clear.
The towel over the head keeps the perspiration from overflowing and the music fluid to the masses.
We are a sophisticated country--full of culture, diversity, and heartfelt soul.

Oculus Rift Has My Attention
Zuckerberg's Facebook announced the purchase of Oculus virtual reality (VR) in March 2014.
I can't think of another piece of consumer technology that I want to try out more than this.
Initially for immersive 3-D experiences in all sorts of entertainment, including gaming, movies, television, and more.
But soon to follow are use cases for virtual meetings, classrooms, doctor's appointments, and anything requiring our interaction and communication.
Hush-hush is the more intimate use for things like virtual sex.
Also, there are opportunities for augmented reality where physical reality is supplemented with computer sensory input making your real-experience that much richer and informed.
With the Oculus Rift, I imagine myself immersed on a safari in Africa, flying into the reaches of space, relaxing at the most beautiful beaches, praying at the Western Wall, fighting my way through first person shooter and action adventures, and reliving biblical and other major historical events.
I don't see VR for myself as an escape from reality, so much as being able to experience many more of life's realities and possibilities out there.
My only fear is that as VR gets better and better, it becomes easier and easier to fall away from our challenges in the real world, and just live inside a mask with a controlled environment where our virtual choices and experiences seem all too convenient and real. ;-)

Fantastic Drone Capabilities Coming
Exciting video by Futurism on what drones can and will do.
Swarming.
Wall landings.
Acrobatics.
Drone on drone landings.
Playing catch.
Juggling.
Building a rope bridge.
These little drones are so versatile and dexterous that perhaps what they can do is only limited by our imagination.
Soon drones will do everything from caring for people's personal needs to building our cities, fighting diseases from within our very bodies, and conducting open warfare on the battlefield and behind enemy lines.

The Chalkboard Car
And on the hood is written "Happy Memorial Day!"
On the side was a design in chalk and on the back even a peace sign.
Wouldn't it be sort of funny if everyone had a car with handwritten messages on it (as long as they were kept clean and non-aggressive).
A little entertainment, humor, how ya feeling today, and more.
It's also nice when we don't take ourselves so seriously and can just have some kosher fun in life. ;-)
