A Song of Saul and David
Great song: David and Shaul from Ehud Banay's third album, ”The Third/Hashlishi”
The song is about the "bipolar" feelings of King Saul toward David (then the next king of Israel).
Here are the lyrics:
כולם מזמן הלכו לישון
רק שאול ער, קודר
מרים לדוד טלפון
A late-night hour
Everyone is long gone to sleep
Only Shaul is awake, cheerless
He calls David up over the phone
Maybe you should stop by, Ya David
My soul is a black lake
Bring the guitar with you
For you have light in your fingers
David comes right away and he is calm
Sit down and tunes (the guitar)
The job he well knows
Closes his eyes, he plays
Ten fingers David has
The tip of each one - a ray of light
When he port on the string
The time is flowing backwards
Shaul is torn inside
Battles in his stomach he has
Love-hate, and jealous he is
Addicted to his friend
Something dark falls
The demon is back to a rage
A knife is thrown in the air
Suddenly there is a wall between the two
David is avoiding Shaul
But Shaul is not giving up
David forget and forgives
When Shaul call up
Come again to play to me David
Take me to the stars
Come again to play tonight
A song of longing
Come again and play tonight..
Come again and play tonight..
A song of longing..
(Kudos to my Ulpan teacher, Rivka D. for sending me the video and to Izchak, my wonderful son-in-law, for providing the Hebrew/English lyrics)

The Back To The Future Car
OMG, so cool...the Back To The Future car.
It's the DeLorean sports car on display by Smithsonian Magazine in Washington, D.C.
I love the winged doors that go up, the cool muscle body, and of course being able to time travel.
The past--I'd like to stroll through the Garden of Eden, witness the splitting of the Red Sea and the giving of Ten Commandments, see Samson bring down the pillars on the Philistines, meet King David and worship at the Holy temple, shake hands with Ben-Gurion, and talk with and hug my parents and grandparents again.
For the future...its got to include space travel to other worlds, the eradication of disease and hunger (and by the way the national debt too), and the coolest technology to do everything. ;-)

Biblical Art
After paying, I noticed there was this beautiful wall hanging between the register and pickup counter...I started to take a closer look and there were these gorgeous scenes from the bible:
- Creation and the 7th Day of Rest
- Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden
- Noah and The Ark, Cain and Abel, The Tower of Babel, and Abraham
- Joseph, Moses, The Exodus from Egypt, and The Ten Commandments
- The Promised Land of Israel, The Fall of Jericho, King David, The Temple, Hezekiah, and Jonah and The Whale
The detail, colors, and flow on this artwork was absolutely amazing.
It is called "A Celebration of Spirit" and I believe that the artist is Charles Fazzino.
The lithograph was tall and narrow, and I would love to see it as a whole wall mural...it is really beautiful and brought the bible so alive.
I found out today that not only the shawarma is good at Max's... ;-)
