Where Are You Pointing That Gun?
If you're sitting in this chair and smoke starts coming out between your legs, I guess you'll know why.

Robot Warriors Kick Human A*s
This is one incredible parody video of what robotic warriors of the future will be able to do.
The robot takes an incredible beating and never misses a shot!
They even hit him numerous times with a battering ram for Pete's sake.
Also, amazed that none of the actors in this video ended up taking a bullet or two.
Wow, the future is going to be amazing. ;-)
(Thank you to my wonderful son-in-law for sending this to me)

Boycott Airbnb
Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, "Free, Free Israel."
(Source Photo: here with attribution to Pixabay)
While the Palestinians continue to terrorize Israelis not only with barrages of rockets, terror tunnels, vehicular rammings, shootings, stabbings, and suicide bombings, but also with their advocacy and pressure for a Boycott, Divestiture, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against us. Companies like Airbnb are actually falling for it and joining the terrorists against U.S. ally and friend, the democratic State of Israel. It's time for Jewish people all over the world to demand "Free, Free Israel" and "End the terrorism!"

Shooting At You
As I heard recently in a movie:
"When someone is shooting at you, you know their intentions."
Sounds simple right?
But often the person throwing shots your way may be couching their real intentions and telling you:
"Ah, it's nothing."
Some may try and rip you off, and tell you:
"It's just business!"
Others punching you like a punching bag tell you:
"You need to get a thicker skin!"
People f*cking with your head ask you:
"Aren't you being a little paranoid?"
Yet others blame the victim calling you out for any sign of weakness"
"Why are you so pathetic? Crybaby!"
The truth of the matter is when people shoot you, take potshots at you, or otherwise physically, verbally, and emotionally abuse you, there is usually some evil sleight of hand and tongue at play.
People that are good people--don't abuse you!
There is no guise or beguiling when people are being truthful and when they truly care about other people.
When they shoot at you, yes you know their intentions.
Stop pretending they didn't mean it. Stop accepting empty promises that they won't do it again. Stop listening to hollow refrains of sorry.
People can be selfish and evil beasts that rip others apart because they will benefit from it or simply because they can or want to.
- Pain and suffering of other human beings is what they relish and feed on like blood is to a vampire.
Good people--do good to others.
- They want to give to others and see others flourish--they know G-d and understand the real purpose of life.
When they shoot you, you know their intentions.
Sure you can shoot back and sometimes you have no choice, but the best way to win is to be that good person. ;-)

Rich, Famous, and Suicide
So I can't believe that Kate Spade (55) committed suicide -- Hanging.
What an amazing fashion designer--so much to live for!
Famous for her gorgeous handbags (that used to be the business my dad was in too).
Her net worth was $150,000,000!
Why does someone so beautiful, successful, rich, and famous take their life???
Ultimately, none of these things make happy or meaning in life!
Still, it is incredibly hard to understand seemingly having so much and throwing your life away--unless of course, we consider terrible things like severe depression and other horrible illnesses that can break anyone.
Yet, there seem to be so many of these hugely successful people that take or lose their lives so young and with still so much to give the world:
Alan Turing (41) -- Cyanide
Alexander McQueen (40) - Hanging
Amy Winehouse (27) -- Alcohol
Chris Benoit (40) -- Broken Neck
Christine Chubbuck (29) -- Shooting
Dana Plato (34) - Overdose
Ernest Hemingway (61) -- Shooting
Jerzy Kosinski (57) -- Overdose
Kurt Cobain (27) -- Shooting
L'Wren Scott (49) -- Hanging
Lucy Gordon (28) -- Hanging
Marilyn Monroe (36) -- Overdose
Michael Jackson (50) -- Overdose
Mike Alfonso (42) - Hanging
Prince (57) -- Overdose
Robbin Williams (63) --Hanging
Sawyer Sweeten (19) -- Shooting
Vincent Van Gogh (37) -- Shooting
Virginia Woolf (59) - Drowning
Whitney Houston (48) -- Drowning
G-d should have mercy and help to take away the pain and suffering from people so that they can live and not die prematurely anymore. ;-)

Don't Upset The Barista
Interesting sticker on this guy's smartphone this morning:
And the Starbucks mermaid in the center is packing two pistols in her hands, instead of the usual fishy fins.
Now the good thing about this particular guy was that he was also wearing a lapel pin from a prominent law enforcement agency here in Washington, D.C., so that was comforting.
I've heard about the economic trade-off ("opportunity costs") between "Guns and Butter," meaning how much we choose to budget for defense vs. civilian goods/social entitlements.
But this is novel--"Guns and Coffee"--I guess you can have your coffee and your 2nd Amendment rights as well.
What happens if you haven't had your coffee yet, does the little mermaid shoot first and ask questions later? ;-)

I Doth Fear
Innocent Shakespeare in the Park or violent assassination incitement of the President of the United States?
Kathy Griffin holding up a severed head of the President.
Stephen Colbert's tirade and obscenities.
And the list goes on and on...
Is this resistance or are things perhaps going too far for political discourse?
Whatever your views, does the rhetoric need to get any hotter or more violent in this country.
Cooler heads and compromise need to prevail for anything positive to come from all this.
Is it not still possible to unite under the shared values of freedom, human rights, and democracy that we all presumably hold dear and use these to advance our common cause?
At least twice now protesters have stormed the Shakespearean stage calling the incitement as an evil portrayal reminiscent of those like Nazi Propaganda Minister, Goebbels (may his name and memory be erased).
The other side pretends nothing is going on and says, but it's only Shakespeare.
Demonstrating against the actors' nightly violent portraying (and perhaps undisguised wishing for) the killing of the President, the plays' protesters are themselves summarily dragged off by security.
Nothing seems to stop the shrill words, calls for violence, and violence itself.
Just last week, we had the unreal and gross shooting of Congressman Whip, Steve Scalise, at an early morning baseball practice with his colleagues.
For those who care to glimpse down the road, what happens from here as we seem to forget who we are as people and as a nation, and we let extremists take over the agenda.
I doth fear (a little Shakespeare myself here) that the problem with extremism and violence is that it can too easily beget more extremism and violence.
Incessant name-calling, an avalanche of punches by the media, hostility on college campuses towards free speech, SNL just poking fun (is this really so funny anymore), an inciting Shakespearean play, plus marches, protests, and then taking things too far.
Like the closing in a classic Shakespearean tragedy...should we all not fear how this will end? ;-)

Okay For A Drive By
So, having grown up in New York, I've definitely heard of a drive by shooting, but never a "drive by meeting".
Until a colleague asked me, "Okay for a drive by?"
A little taken aback, but I was available (and figured not in any imminent danger by his type of "drive by"), so I agreed to meet for a few minutes.
The meeting was quick, like a car whizzing by, but we discussed what was needed and accomplished the immediate goal.
Personally, I prefer when someone is driving the meeting, rather than having a drive by meeting, but we all need to be agile to whatever the day brings. ;-)

Children, Our Future
20 children dead today in school shooting.
Completely unacceptable!
We need better psychiatric screening, more treatment options, and safer schools.
How can we expect children to excel, when they can't even feel safe.
Safeguard our children, protect our future.
