Chocolate Dreaming

Don't know about you but these looked pretty darn good at Costco.

"Chocolate Dream"

Chocolate cream, whipped cream, and chocolate cookie.

Now, how could that be bad?

Dreaming chocolate...

It reminds me of the other day when I saw someone daydreaming.

I said to him, "Are you okay?"

He replies, "I am far away!"

It sounded good, so I said, "Can you take me with you?"

Got a good laugh from him.  ;-)

Everyone Loves A Good Massage Chair

What can you say, when you see these luxurious, zero gravity, massage chairs?

Yes, ah, that feels so good!

Seriously, you know you want to try it.

Yes, you do.

And you even want to take one home.

Costco's got these.

You've seen others at Sharper Image at the Mall.

They're not cheap.

This one was like $4,299.

Can you resist the urge to splurge on the ultimate in comfort and relaxation?

Take off your shoes. close your eyes, let yourself drift away.

It's a better place. ;-)

Terrible TV

So we bought a new big screen television.

That's exciting, right?

We brought it home from Costco.

And we gave our prior model away to a family member.

It was a shlep to move that $2,000 Panasonic behemoth from 2007!

By the time we got back home and connected our new LG TV, oy vey what a disappointment.

It had this brilliant display in "test mode" that when hooked up to the cable box looked dark and worse than lackluster.

Even when fidgeting with the settings to offset the dark screen, the gorgeous test display mode still came out looking like crap in actual tv mode.

But the worst part was that there was a black line down the middle right of the screen.

When we looked it up on the Internet, it was a known error.

The instructions said to call LG and make a service appointment.

WTF!  To heck with this sh*tty TV--it's supposed to be brand new and actually work--so it's going back to Costco where this crappy product came from.

I dragged this widescreen TV back to the store and put it on one of their flat wide carts.

The problem was that the wheels on one side of the cart were busted, and it kept turning into the fence, store shelves, and wall.

When the lady behind the returns desk called me for my turn, I tried to push the cart and it wouldn't move.

Not being able to budge this thing,  I gave it shove forward and the TV went flying from upright to horizontal--SMASH!

The lady behind the returns counter goes to me sarcastically:

"So what was wrong with it BEFORE you just knocked it over???"

Well to make a long story short, I returned the lousy LG television and got a refund.

And instead ordered a new Samsung curved TV from Amazon--hope this one works!

As for the horrible quality control of today's electronics--it's a shame that they can't seem to make them without problems--they've only been making televisions for like 100 years or so.

In fact, we recently bought a Dell laptop and within like 5-6 weeks, the motherboard died.

As you can see, the vendors are wringing profits from the products they are making at the customer's expense.

There is no quality control to speak of--instead be ready to return the junk electronics to the garbage vendors that make them. ;-)

I Quit, And Here's My Clothes

This was a funny picture on the Metro in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

Apparently some people threw off their Costco jackets (I think with name tags and all).

One jacket was on the train floor next to the heating vents and the other lying on the seat next to the window,

They were not neatly folded, but sort of angrily shoved there.

As people got on the train looking for a seat, over and over their eyes did a widening and they paused, some said, "What's that? Did someone leave their clothes on the train?"

Two teenage girls and a boy started laughing and pointing.

No one would actually go near these--maybe they were afraid of germs or to get involved in whatever happened here.

Well Costco, if you're looking for some of your long white jackets with emblem (one from your tire center), you may want to contact the lost and found in WMATA.

As for the employees, I don't think they are coming back. ;-)

What Did The Cereal Box Say To The BMW?

This family had just come out of Costco loaded with groceries.

They are heading to the garage to pack it into their car.

A BMW comes racing through the garage and runs over one of these mega Costco cereal boxes.

The car keeps going with the cereal box being dragged underneath.

The family runs through the garage and cuts off the BMW waving and yelling for him to stop.

He skids across the double-yellow line and stops blocking both sides of the road.

The man who lost his cereal bends under the front of the BMW to try to extricate the cereal.

The box is so Costco big, it barely can come out.

The man's family looks on from the side.

Finally, he wiggles the box this way and that and gets the cereal box out from under the BMW.

The driver is standing there sort of bewildered by the whole thing.

If the cereal box could talk, I think it'd beg for a better ending than this.

Too often, as we go through life, we mow other people down who are in our way.

Thank G-d, this was just a box of cereal and not the man's child or wife that had been run over and dragged.

I wondered how degrading it must have felt for this poor guy to be bending down in the street to get the box out, while the driver simply looks on in an uncaring disdain.

I almost thought for a moment, the driver was going to either just keep going or when he got out wallop the other guy for hassling him to get his cereal.

People can be strange that way and you never know what is going to happen next.

It is good that other people can be around with smartphone cameras and video, so that people don't feel that they can just behave indiscriminately and obscurely.

In the end, no one should think they are all that--and have the right to uncaringly run over others' persons or things.

We are all frail humans and G-d is always there with a very big, high megapixel smartphone recording it all for judgement day. ;-)
