Buddha Planter
Thought this was a great planter.
Beautiful purple flowers coming right from Buddha's head.
Serene in so many ways! ;-)

Buddha Happy
This was a great big Buddha by the cashier in the vegetarian restaurant.
He is, so to say, "fat and happy" (come on you can't miss that belly)!
I think that's the message the eatery is trying to get across.
The only problem is that fat does not make happy; it just makes you want to lose weight.
Then again, no really hungry person was ever that happy either. ;-)

Peace Or War
Either peace and pay the price or war and take the risk.
It's very smart.
Peace isn't free...there is a price (maybe a large one) to pay for it.
War is also not free...there is a risk of what you will win or lose.
These are very serious life calculations with consequences that are far reaching.
Peace or war and if you are wrong what will it cost and how will you achieve security? ;-)

White Lie, Black Truth
No this is not another civil or human rights post, although I like writing those as well.
Rather, this is about how we use our words to help and not hurt others.
Yes, we all know that it's wrong to lie (it's even in the 10 Commandments).
Except, of course, when we need to tell a "white lie" in order to keep someone's feelings from getting hurt.
For example, I may not like your new haircut, but when you ask me glowingly what I think, instead of telling you how it's too short or whatever, I tell you, "Yeah, it looks great!"
Then, there is the "black truth."
That's when we swallow hard and tell the truth to someone, even though it may hurt their feelings, it's ultimately for their good.
For example, your child may be going of course with their lives, and while you don't want to hurt their feelings, you know you need to tell them the truth in order to help them course-correct.
Telling lies or truth can be hurtful to people, but a white lie isn't really bad, because it's used to protect someone's feeling, the black truth, is also not so dark and foreboding, because there are times when you need to get past the superficial, be real with someone, and tell them the hard truth in order to help them in a very practical sense.
That's one of life's most difficult lessons, that not everything is black or white. ;-)

To The Salt Cave
So had a new experience and went to the Salt Cave in Bethesda (a second choice if you can't get to the secret superhero crime-fighting Bat Cave).
It was a large room filled with Himalayan salt for experiencing all the spa's "healing" effects.
Supposed to be good to breath in all the minerals infused from the pink salt "micro climate" air and also for exposure to the skin.
It was fairly dark in the cave except for some recessed lighting behind some of the salt stone walls.
The chairs were these weird beach chairs that you could recline in, but it would've definitely been worth it to have some fancier cushioned seating to more fully relax in and to match the spa ambiance that they were selling.
In the background was relaxing meditation music and we were closed in the salt cave for 45-minute to enjoy the dark quiet salt effects.
It must've relaxed me, because when I got home, I had a Buddha face on and took a nice post-spa afternoon nap. ;-)
