Oriental Glass Sculpture

Love the smooth pink and white glass.

Amazing how the hats and robes give them the oriental flair.

Not sure what the dirt is on the arm of the one on the left (maybe it just wipes off).

But they each cost $14,500!  ;-)

Oriental Flair

I liked the oriental flair of this decor.

The vases, plants, and bonsai (even fake) were nice.

Appreciated the symmetry as well which makes it hang all together.

Relaxing and charming.  ;-)

Beautiful Bonsai Tree

Something genius about a Bonsai tree.

The way it is on one hand natural and on the other hand "sculpted" by people.

Sort of a metaphor for life, where G-d gives us the raw material and asks us to go do good with it.

G-d creates and people shape that creation.

Beautiful partnership makes a beautiful Bonsai!  ;-)

Beautiful Japanese Balloon

Pretty amazing Japanese balloon.

Asian landscape of mountains, trees, and with cranes flying overhead.

Red, yellow, and black tones make for a striking look.

When this floats overhead, there is no missing its origins. ;-)

Oodles of Noodles

Big cooking wok!

Fry it up in the pan.

Oodles of noodles.

Sautéed with soy sauce.

Wrapped around the large spoons.

Looks filling, gut-busting perhaps.

But ooh so satisfying.  ;-)

Them Tables Always Turn

Just wanted to share a saying that I liked.

It is an ancient Mongolian proverb and was in the movie, "Mogul" about the rise of Genghis Khan:
Do not scorn a weak cub; he may become a brutal tiger.
I think this is the Asian equivalent of:

1) Don't burn your bridges.
2  Don't start a war you can't win.
3) Pick on someone your own size.
4) What goes around comes around.

The Asian version is better! ;-)

World Of Amazing Times and People

Took this video at the World of Montgomery Festival today.

The dancers, singers, drummers, and costumes were all great.

The weather today an unseasonably warm 76 degrees and being out and about was fun.

Plus it was an extra special treat to meet up with my pal Congressman Jamie Raskin.

Thank you G-d for all the amazing times and good people.

Wise Man Watcheth

I just loved this Asian sculpture that I found in this cool antique store.

It was white and slim with a Asian man face, long beard, and tall hat.

The face was so expressive.

The eyes so alert and watching.

The beard and hat made him look old and wise.

As a real person, this is someone who has seen and learned so many things.

Forever watching.

Forever seeking to understand.

Forever trying to learn the secrets of the life.

This is a person to consult and get guidance from.

With age comes wisdom.

And with (occasional) reincarnation comes more opportunity to learn the painful lessons that we haven't, but must.

How long has this man been sitting there watching and learning--how long must we?
