Tunnel of Luggage

Tunnel of love?

No, tunnel of luggage.

Nothing comes out the same on the other side.

This is called bumps and bruises.

Still it's a long way to paradise. ;-)

Flower Petals In Water

Just wanted to share these absolutely beautiful flower petals floating on the water.

G-d's creations are so wondrous and marvelous.

Frankly, I find it hard to comprehend how He made everything so gorgeous.

There are plenty of challenges for us in this world to keep us learning and growing.

But truly, I love that there is some Garden of Eden paradise in this world too. ;-)

Feeling Blue, Feel Better

Life is filled with so many wonderful marvels and joys--thank you G-d!

Yet interspersed is what feels like a series of non-ending life challenges.

Yes, of course we wouldn't recognize or appreciate the good, if we didn't have the bad to compare it to.

But just when you think you've gotten through one obstacle and are cruising nicely down Life Lane, then it seems like it's time for the next speed bump.

I know that having faith through thick and thin is a huge part of it.

Also, challenging oneself to be strong and work through the next life dilemma.

Sure, not everything is life and death, thank G-d.

But even daily upsets can be frustrating.

I know inside though that in a weird sense, this is really what life is all about.

It's not paradise we are living in--that comes later when we get our angel wings!

This is a world that challenges, teaches, and grows us.

We are not here just to have a merry 'ol good time day in and day out.

While that may be nice for a while, it would get pretty tiresome and pointless.

Life is like a puzzle--a very big puzzle--and we are here to help solve it and in the process, we have the opportunity to become better souls for it.  ;-)

Turkish Lights

Just wanted to share these beautiful Turkish lights that I found in Hollywood, Florida.

We had a delicious lunch at L'Chaim Asian Cuisine and Steak House--the honey chicken was to die for--OMG, it was like candy!

Afterwards, we walked about the shopping strip there and came across this store with these amazing lights.

It was a hookah (not hookers!) store which I am completely not interested in, having never smoked a cigarette or anything my entire life--true!

But these light were gorgeous.

I took these pictures and was even tempted to buy one--loved the colors and happiness of them.

Held off for now, too many nice things, especially since we then followed up with a day trip to Sawgrass Mills today--what an unbelievably huge shopping and outlet mall.

I know it must definitely be time to head home soon, because the shopping experience down here is wearing me down--just kidding, but it's definitely a paradise not only for the beach, but for the shopping fun as well. ;-)

Special Blue Bird

Just wanted to share a photo I took of this beautiful blue bird that I came across in Florida.

This bird was something special.

I couldn't help admiring his amazingly blue feathers punctuated by the yellow around his smart eyes

He wasn't the only beautiful animal or flower that we saw there, there were many.

They all just left me in wonderment at the unbelievable beauty that G-d created for us in this world.

No one is going to tell me this is all random by evolution, and that there is not a profoundly wise and all-knowing Maker behind it.

Perhaps, we never really left the physical Garden of Eden, but being expelled from there meant more of a mentality where we have to work and fight hard to keep it all pristine.

Mankind's inclination is to take and use abundantly almost without thought as to the sustainability of his actions.

- Cities expand and encroach on natural rural areas.

- G-d's beautiful creatures are in retreat and often in danger of extinction.

- Resources are used willy nilly as we dig and dig, chop and chop, and burn and burn.

- Garbage is expelled and piles up virtually anywhere and everywhere.

- Pollution fills the land, air, and waterways.

Eden is still here, but people must act more like angels and less like snakes if G-d gracious gifts to us are to survive. ;-)

What's The Internet Worth To You?

What a great question--what's the Internet or your Smartphone worth to you?

Most people seems to say they wouldn't give these up--not even for a million dollars!

Maybe $15-20 million--enough to never have to work again. Okay, now you're getting closer.

Nah, I want a billion dollars to give up the Internet--that's what some people responded.

For me, I'm not certain even a billion dollars could keep me off the Internet--but I could certainly try it for a few days.

Being able to communicate, connect, learn, share, and transact online is like air and water to us now-a-days--an absolute necessity for modern survival.

Without being able to do these things, you may as well be on a stranded island--you may own that Island (like Larry Ellison who bought the 6th largest Hawaiian Island of Lanai) and it may be quite a nice one at that, but you'll still be quite secluded and alone in the Internet age.

Yes, the Internet and all we get from it costs only pennies on the millions (and/or billions) of dollars worth we each receive from it--and that's why on some things you cannot put a price tag.

We're in this world to learn and grow and for that we need other people far and wide--either that or you'll need to have one heck of a big and non-stop party at home in paradise. ;-)
