Well, the first stunt ended up ok.
But the second one, not so much so!
Check it out. ;-)

Get The Pest(s) Out Of Life
This seems like some good advice

Probably should say "pests" (plural)!
No wonder the people are happy to work there, they're pest free. ;-)

Things Look Different Up Close
I was coming up the highway.
In the distance, there looked like there was a large tractor-trailer heading towards me.
I had to take a double take, because this truck was on my side of the divider...Oh shit!
It was only as I got closer that I could see that the truck was really being towed in reverse by a tow truck.
Yes, "seeing is believing!"
This is a lesson in life:
Things may look one way from a distance, and very different up close.
Sometimes, my wife tells me:
"Andy, don't look too close!" lol
But the truth is that you may not really see what you heading towards until it's right in front of your eyes.
So it's important to look out over the horizon and study what is coming your way.
But don't take your eye off the ball (or Mack Truck as it may be).
Things can change your perspective the closer you get to it. ;-)

DC, The Cleanest City In The World
Check out what we have in Washington, DC...
Gum Busters--"chewing gum removal specialists"!
If we can get the gummies out of politics, imagine what we can accomplish.
Man, DC has got to be one of the cleanest cities in the world. ;-)

Not The Ad You Want To See In DC
No explanation needed as to why you wouldn't want to see this walking down the street in the Capital.
Ban this advertisement from Washington D.C. please. ;-)

Devil's Beer
This was an interesting delivery truck in Washington D.C.
Anyway, I didn't know that the devil drinks beer.
I wouldn't want to see what happens when he gets tipsy. ;-)

Who Can Resist?
So this food truck in downtown Washington D.C. is plastered with this Mac Attack signage.
The noodles are sticking up and out of everything (including the "A" in Attack).
And the gooey cheese is dropping off the noodles and letters.
While I didn't see anyone around the truck buying early in the day, I have a feeling the line forms at lunchtime.
Really now, who can resist the temptation of a good mac and cheese? ;-)

Garbage In, Repair The World Out
I'm sure you know the saying, "Garbage In, Garbage out"--in other words what you put into something is what you get out.
In this case, I took a photo of a garbage truck--of all things--that had prominently plastered on its side, "Tikkun Olam - Repair the World."
That is quite a positive message to put on a garbage truck!
Maybe that is our challenge in life, to make good things happen from the garbage that life often throws our way.
Make something sweet like lemonade out of something sour like lemons.
This is not easy without some sugar, but in life, we need G-d to supply the raw ingredients and we add the elbow grease. ;-)

How Do You Kill A Pothole?
With a pothole killer, of course.
This is a funny truck roaming around Washington, D.C.
Even the phone number tells the story...dial 1-877-Fix Road.
All American too - red, white, and blue with the stars and stripes.
Bang, Bang. Pothole Dead. ;-)

A Falafel A Day
Peace comes in many shapes and sizes--peace talks, peace negotiations, peace treaties, and now even peace trucks.
Reminiscent of the peace marches and brightly painted VW peace vans of the 1970's, The Washington Post (26 January 2013) reports on a 76-year old retired Energy Department staffer with a PhD in mechanical engineering who for his second career is starting a peace food truck in DC.
The food truck will have two windows for selling kosher food from one and for selling halal food from the other.
The owner-activist who is an Egyptian American hopes that "it will bring people from different backgrounds, who are waiting on line, to talk together."
He says: "I think it will work because, well, everyone likes food," and he hopes to fund additional food trucks in Chicago, New York, Israel, and the West Bank.
The truck has both the Jewish Star of David and Islamic Crescent painted on it--it is truly a truck for representing diversity of people, but with a common taste in good Mediterranean food.
It's amazing what a falafel can do--perhaps, even help bring peace and security to the Middle East. ;-)

Don't Communicate Like A Dump Truck
I don't know a lot about huge dump trucks.
But I wondered what this meant when it says on the back of this multi-ton vehicle--"Do Not Push".
Don't worry, I won't! :-)
In life, we often communicate things that either we aren't really clear about, don't mean, or end up being misunderstood for.
In fact, probably one of the toughest "soft skills" to learn is communication skills.
I don't know why they call it soft, since when you communicate poorly, you can get hit over the head--quite hard.
One of the biggest issues is people who talk too much (i.e. they dump on others), but aren't very good at listening. Hey, they may as well be talking to themselves then, because communication is a two-way street.
Good communications skills include the three C's: clarity, conciseness, and consistency, and I would add--last but not at all least--a T for tact.
Communication skills also overlaps with the ability to effectively influence, negotiate, and create win-win solutions, so actually communication is at the very heart of what we need to do well.
When communicating, don't be pushy and don't be pushed around (i.e. get dumped on)--and don't get hit by that over-sized dump truck--communicate early, often, honestly, and with passion.
