Mutual and Eternal Love

Please see my new poem in The Times of Israel called "Mutual and Eternal Love."
Like Abraham, we are tested to do "what is right and just," and history is our witness.

For "we are dust and will return to dust," but our souls will rise to heaven and be reunited with our everlasting, loving Father.

(Also, please remember to listen to the Jewish music video as you read the poetry.)

Can Love Be Blind?

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Can Love Be Blind?"

As long as in this material world, the body hides the soul of the person, then love can never be fully blind because people cannot see the true brightness of the soul inside or realize the primacy of people's spiritual inner selves without getting distracted by the physical aspects of the person, including attraction (which as we all know fades over time) and, of course, class, race, and ethnicity. Yes, physical/chemical attraction is an important part of intimate relationships, but at the end of the day, it's what's inside that counts, not only in this world, but for our eternal being and purpose.

Finding Truth in a Topsy-Turvy World

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Finding Truth in a Topsy-Turvy World."

In terms of seeing the world and life clearly, you have a choice of how to live. You can choose to endlessly chase meaningless material things and the next physical high, or you can live your life with a deeper understanding that this world is just a corridor to the future world, where the “breath of life” from G-d returns to Him for everlasting revelation and reckoning.

Dreaming An Angel

So last night (on the last night of Hanukkah) I had the most amazing dream.

In the dream, I saw a celestial being come to me.

And it was clearly my mom.

She didn't exactly have a physical body, but more like an angel and the manifestation of the spirit I recognized immediately as my mother.

I experienced an unbelievable and overwhelming feeling of missing my mom.

Like the feeling of the last years that I had been holding back suddenly burst forth.

I started crying hysterically how I had missed her and that I was sorry for any way that I may have failed her (and my dad).

She stood completely straight and beautiful like an angel, truly.

And I could feel her love for me and she told me in a soft and genuine voice that "It is okay."

This was not like a regular dream, but completely real in a metaphysical sense, and I not only saw, but also remembered every detail vividly.

Afterwards, I felt immobilized for about 20 minutes; just feeling all the feeling and still seeing it all in my mind's eye.

I was shaken from such a life-changing "dream" and still can't really get over it.

It was wonderful to see my mom and know that she is okay and at peace, and everything is okay.

Thank you G-d for letting me experience this and to connect with my mom once again.

May it be for a blessing for us. ;-)

Gorgeous Fall Leaves

Wow, gorgeous fall change of colors for the leaves.

It almost looks like the tree is golden, heavenly and floating.

We're so lucky to get to experience the wonders of nature.

Thank you G-d!  ;-)

Looking Up

Took this photo laying under a tree and looking up at the sky.

Feel the connection between earth and heaven.

Hi G-d!  ;-)

Light at the End of The Ark

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "Light At The End Of The Ark."

Why was Noah commanded to build a skylight in the ark?

Noah and all the fascinating people in the Bible weren’t just characters in a novel, but they were real people and they experienced up and downs, as we all do in life. The key to remember is that there is always a window where we can see our relative good fortune and everything we have to be grateful for, where we can keep an eye on the light at the end of tunnel (as my father used to say about bad things, “this too shall pass”), and we can look up to our Father in Heaven and remember that He will bring deliverance to us. Even in the mightiest of floods that devastated the world, G-d was still there for us, and He was, is, and always will be!

Missing My Dear Mom

I had the Yartzeit (memorial anniversary) for my mom this last week.

Can't believe it's been 7 years already!

Came across this picture where I'm sneaking up behind her at the veggie restaurant.

My mom was always so full of life!

And while she went regularly to work, she also made sure to took care of us and the home.

Whatever time I found myself coming home from school or work, there was a wonderful home-cooked meal waiting for me, and the salad always came first!

After I met my wife, Dossy, my mom and dad welcomed her to the family with open arms and hearts, and then together with our own children (their grandchildren), we were one (extended) family.

Mom, hope you and Dad are doing well and G-d bless you both in Heaven!  ;-)

Ghostbusters Mobile

Look what car I found today in Lancaster County.

The Ghostbusters Mobile.

The hood ornament is even a little ghost!

From the looks of the downtown, there very possibly could've been some ghosts around.

Life and death are just a hairbreadth away.

And when you die in one life, you pass over to the next. ;-)

Tunnel of Luggage

Tunnel of love?

No, tunnel of luggage.

Nothing comes out the same on the other side.

This is called bumps and bruises.

Still it's a long way to paradise. ;-)

We Have To Pray Just To Make It One Day

So as we have done for ages...

We pray.

We weep.

We bless.

We request.

We thank.

We only control what we say and do.

The rest is in G-d's merciful, blessed hands. ;-)

Great Veggie Heaven

Great little Chinese vegetarian/vegan restaurant in New Jersey.

My sister took us there a couple of years ago.

Hopefully, I didn't forgot to say thank you.

Never forget the yummy food there (and of course, the good family company).

Good descriptive name and eats at Veggie Heaven!  ;-)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my dear, beautiful, and special mom!

Even though it's been 6 years since you passed over to Heaven, I can still see you here with me today.

The love and caring you showed for me, my sister, and Dad as well as the grandchildren filled all of our lives.

You always worked hard for the family and to do your best.

Life was not always easy especially coming with your parents from the Holocaust.

Yet, I never doubted for a moment that our family was the world for you.

And both you and Dad still mean the world to me and I know you both are with me always.

I can feel it!

Happy Mother's Day--we love you!  ;-)

What I Want to Be When I Grow Up (LOL)

After all the work is said and done...

And there is still so much more that I earnestly hope and pray to accomplish with my life.

Perhaps, then, when I am all grown up, I can have some time to be a sun bum too.

Everyone deserves a little fun. ;-)

Adding A Very Special Facebook Friend

So this was really strange what happened to me before Yom Kippur.

My parents passed away 5-6 years ago already.

I always miss them so much!

Somehow, on Facebook, my dad's Facebook profile came up, which I was surprised to find.

Looking at it, I saw under his friends was of course, my mom.

I didn't even know my mom had a Facebook page (I don't think she ever really used it).

But I was so curious, I clicked on her profile.

I saw the prominent blue and white button to "Add Friend."

And I saw my hand reaching to press for that button.

I so wanted to reach out and be able to be with, see, communicate with her again.

Then I stopped myself realizing that the friend request, unfortunately, couldn't go to Heaven.

If only it could...I would be so happy to press that button and have my mom hear from me again. ;-)

Magnificent Room Divider

Wow, this is a completely amazing room divider.

The brilliant colors and the vibrant circular swirls make this outstanding to take in.

So simple in a way, yet it brings so much magnificence to any space.

Staring into this has an almost heavenly effect of traveling through that final tunnel before reaching the heavenly essence of light at the end of it all. ;-)

A Good Father

I know it's not Father's Day yet, but I had a beautiful dream about my dad the other day that I wanted to share.

In my dream, I was looking at this ledger.

And at the top of the ledger, it said:
"A Good Father"

I understand that good didn't mean like good vs. great, but rather like good vs. evil in this universe.

Beneath it, there were lists and lists of signatures of people who knew my dad.

Their signatures were an attestation that he was not only a good dad, but a good and righteous person.

I remember in the dream his presence was there with me as I looked at the ledger.

Then there was an astoundingly bright light that I was basking in.

Now I could feel I was in the presence of the Master of the Universe.

I looked up to the center and most intense part of the light, and lifted my arms upward in complete supplication to it...towards G-d.

And I felt myself crying out to G-d, and as I cried out louder and more intensely, I was transported back--whooshed through a tunnel at light speed...to awaken from this incredible dream.

Unlike most dreams, this one I remembered and it stuck with me even days later now.

My dad was truly a great father and a great man!

I am grateful to Hashem for letting me see him this week, and I miss him greatly. ;-)

Lessons In Teshuvah - Near-Death Experience

Great Video on the incredible Near Death Experience (NDE) of Rabbi Alon Anava.

What he experiences, sees, and is told can change lives forever.

What a perfect learning right before Rosh Hashanah.

Teshuvah, Tefillah, U'Tzedekah.

Shannah Tova! ;-)
