@Museum of Natural History

That's the famous elephant in the rotunda.

And it 63 degrees in Washington, D.C. today.

That's global warming.

Happy New Year 2023! ;-)

Royal Tibetan Teapot

Brass Tibetan Teapot.

With silver dragon spout and handle.

I bet the tea tastes better from it any day of the week. ;-)

Anyone Missing A Leg?

That's some museum exhibit!

Wonder if the owner of the leg is on the other side of that wall?

What was this artist thinking?

Hopefully just to sensitize us to people's health, disabilities, and plights, so we can be more compassionate and caring people!  ;-)

@Torpedo Factory

Some old but awesome torpedos

You wouldn't want one of these big salamis hitting you in the head!

Man oh man, these will do some serious damage.

Imagine what we got now-a-days for fun with our enemies.  ;-)

Incredible Horses and Wagon

Wow, thought this was an incredible horses and wagon.

I love how the artist raised the path, so you could see the difficulty of traveling like this.

And the sculpture is so intricate and detailed.

Truly lifelike and makes you feel the times.

In the Wild West, like in the "Old Country" people kept chugging along, even when life was difficult and often miserable.

Not sure how they did it. ;-)

An Amazing Piano of the Arts

Wow, what a piano this is!

It combines beautiful music with incredible art, including woman dancing in a circle.

Music + Art + Dance!

It is a great instrument bar none.

To look at, to listen to, to feel alive with. ;-)

Face It!

Wow, it only takes a little to show a lot.

The brilliance of capturing the essence while leaving out the extraneous.

A person is clearly there even though it's just his face.

What is hidden is also revealed.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Yet, I don't miss him, because he's right there.

It looks like he's about to say something!  ;-)

Best Wardrobe

Love this choice of clothing!

You can choose a white shirt, a white shirt, or a white shirt.

Decisions, Decisions!

Great thing is simplicity and that you can dress in the dark in the morning.

Bad thing is you are a lifeless, colorless buffoon.  ;-)

Party Balloons!

Now those are some party balloons!

Really, they are part of an exhibit from the Hirshhorn Museum.

But boy do they make a statement.

Big, pink, and with polka dots.

They are the king of the party. ;-)

Israel 2020: Day 5

Went to the Holon Design Museum (south of Tel Aviv) today.

They had exhibit called States of Extreme.

I found some really cool exhibits and ideas there.

Sort of felt my mind being expanded by it, which is I suppose one of the purposes of going to this.

Two of my favorite from today:

1) The chair with people legs and

2) The Fanuc robotic arm feeding the baby in the crib.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

And Shabbat Shalom to everyone from the Holy Land!

Limp Noodles {SAD}

No, they're not noodles.

They are pencils in the museum.

And they are certainly limp, if not completely dead.

Who in the world would use a clown pencil like this?

This is some serious dysfunction.

If I could, I would certainly prescribe some much needed Viagra for these. LOL

They are that sad! ;-)

Ocean Waves Electric

Thought this was pretty cool at the Boca Museum of Art.

Electronic Ocean Waves.

Mesmerizing and calming.

And all in bits and bytes.

They also had a display of black and white photos of the ocean waves.

But it was a little too sterile for me.

I like nature and nurture in perfect harmony.  ;-)

Graffiti Art

I really love Graffiti Art!

Went to Wynwood Walls in Miami.

The art is just fantastic.

Better than the typical museum.

So creative.

So big.

So colorful.

So full of life.

They took a whole rundown neighborhood and made it cool and great.

On December 5, they will be opening  the Museum of Graffiti.

Can't wait to go back and immerse myself in it! ;-)

Rainbow Card Display

Thought this was a cool, even if rudimentary, museum display.

Instead of postcards in the display holder, they put colored glass.

Then just let the sun shine in and look at the awesome wall display.

Might be fun to swap around to get different patterns and blends.

As a kid, I always used to turn the display to see what just around the bend, in this case you get the disco effect.

Color and light play nice together.  ;-)

Beautiful Measurements

This is a beautiful set of nested brass weights from France.

It dates back to 1852!

The weights range from 1 gram to 500 grams.

These are weights, but also a form of art.

It is located at the NIST Museum.

There is something comforting about weights, measures, and standards.

It puts an organized construct unto our universe and creates some objective scientific reality to our world.

Magnificent Room Divider

Wow, this is a completely amazing room divider.

The brilliant colors and the vibrant circular swirls make this outstanding to take in.

So simple in a way, yet it brings so much magnificence to any space.

Staring into this has an almost heavenly effect of traveling through that final tunnel before reaching the heavenly essence of light at the end of it all. ;-)
