That Look On Their Face

So I love that look on people's face when I say something that just startles them or takes them back a little.

The other day when I got a haircut, the barber lady was talking to me (BTW, she's a very nice person).

At one point, she says something about my hair being a little different on each side.

So I blurt out something like:

"Well, that's because my brains are pushing it out!"

I got the funniest look from her...yes, it was priceless.

First, she's like right, of course, your brains are pushing out your hair!

Then, she looks at me, and I start smirking, and she gives me the big eyes and raised eyebrows, like a combination of that's funny and now don't be such a wise guy.

Then, we both started laughing.

I love that.

I love doing that with people.

Being alive.

Getting a reaction.

Making them wonder for a second.

Getting them to smile and laugh.

Maybe my brains are pushing my hair out!  ;-)

From Cocoa Trees To Honey Pizza

Had a chance to take in the United States Botanic Garden.

Loved going in the greenhouse.

The air was fresh and the flowers beautiful.

The 2nd to last photo is a cocoa tree, which I had never seen before.

It was incredible to me that those pods hold the amazing stuff that gives us chocolate.

G-d's creations are so amazing.

Also, we went for dinner and my daughter had this amazing pizza with cheese, figs, spinach, and honey.

I couldn't have the dough because of my Paleo diet, but I just tasted the toppings, and it was literally like heaven.

I was glad that the taste didn't show up on the scale this morning.

To me the wonderment is how our senses can literally indulge in so many wonderful things almost like the Garden of Eden.

Thank you G-d for giving us life and the ability to enjoy your amazing creations. ;-)

Bird In The Bush

Thought this was an absolutely amazing and spellbinding photo of a bird peeking out from a bush.

I've never actually seen anything like this captured up close like this.

The bird seemed to cooperate.

It reminds me of a baby gestating in it's mother's womb, so content, so sheltered.

Not quite ready to come out into the real world, but snug in place, yet observant.

Too soon to be contemplating next steps in the complex world outside its immediate cozy shelter.

Perhaps, there is a part of us that craves that simplicity, innocence, and existence sheltered from all the bumps and bruises.

Oh, to have such peace of mind and spirit, absent heart-wrenching day-to-day dilemmas we face.

Like a bird nestled in a bush looking out with that simple wonder and purity of life itself.
