Most Popular Grocery Item

Okay and for the $1,000,000 fantasy prize, what do you think is the most popular product at this supermarket?  ;-)

(This is obviously not a real contest or prize!)

Cheesecake and Whipped Cream

What is this--like a million calories?

Rich cheese cake.

Whipped cream spilling unto the sides.

Chocolate and sugar topping.

Your pants will never close again after this!  ;-)

Buddha Happy

This was a great big Buddha by the cashier in the vegetarian restaurant.

He is, so to say, "fat and happy" (come on you can't miss that belly)!

I think that's the message the eatery is trying to get across.

The only problem is that fat does not make happy; it just makes you want to lose weight.

Then again, no really hungry person was ever that happy either.  ;-)

Shabbat Shalom Bowl and Cup Set

Cute bowl and cup set!

They say Shabbat Shalom to all Y'all!

Quick funny anecdote from today:

When I inquired with a friend about their Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.

They, of course, said they ate too much!

But it was funny as hey said that, they made a big round (belly) sign with their arms.

That image was worth a thousand turkeys. ;-)

Cold-Press Fruits and Veggies

We starting watching this movie with Joe Cross called, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead."

This guy weighs a ton and goes on a 60-day all juicing diet.

He stops all the food and just carries his juicer with him everywhere making fresh fruit and vegetable cold-press.

While obviously a little extreme, I like the idea of reducing the food intake (especially everything gluten which is death itself), and replacing it with healthy juice.

I tried one of the super green juices and it literally tasted like eating grass.

Uh, that's not gonna realistically work for me.

So I settled on Evolution's Organic Super Fruit Greens that has a combination of orange, mango, pineapple, cucumber, spinach, romaine, and kale.

I actually like it and am sitting here sipping on one as I write this blog post.

I went into the fridge and threw all the carbs in the freakin garbage--good riddance!

Gotta get and stay healthy!  ;-)

Extra Large Sizes

Obesity rates have been consistently growing in this country.

This is concerning for all sorts of health effects (including unfortunately Cancer).

Many of us struggle with our weight and it is not easy to fight it especially given the processed foods and carbs all around us.

The picture as of 2015 is that almost 40% of Americans are categorized as obese (versus a below average of 18% in Israel)

In this context, this store sign in Israel for big and tall clothing was off the charts.

Talking about extra large sizes for people...

Check out how many "Xs" as in XL this store is advertising?

A full 11 Xs (after that I lost count)!

Hey, that is a large size for anyone.

What does a size 11 XL look like.

Now that's something that I don't have a good picture of.  ;-)

Calories Extreme!

Someone mentioned that they went to the Cheesecake Factory the other day.

They said they bought a slice of cheesecake.

I asked: "Was it the Oreo Cheesecake?"

They said, "yeah!"

But they went on, "It was too much for one person to eat."

Uh, you think?

Check out how many calories are in one piece of this "Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake" -->>1,630!

Yes, that's one slice, not the whole cake!!!

And over 50% is from fat!

Take all this in context:
The calories for an average female and male is just 1,900 and 2,500, respectively, if your moderately active.

So one slice of cheesecake like this Oreo flavor is around 86% or 65% of the total recommended calorie intake for a women or man for the entire day!

What the heck do they put into this cheesecake--butter, cream cheese, sugar by the truckload!

I know it must be good, but does it also have to be this deadly! ;-)

Weighing The Evidence

Here is an interesting idea.

In front of the inner doors to this supermarket in Florida...

There is a huge scale for weighing yourself.

Before you shop for the mac and cheese, hero sandwiches, pizza slices, cookies, cakes, ice cream, and chips, why not have a look at the scale!

Then decide what you want to buy in the supermarket today.

Maybe you'll spend a little more time and money in the fruit and vegetable isle.

Or getting some healthy and diet snacks.

The scale only goes up to 300 pounds.

So if that that doesn't scare you straight...

Maybe the fact that everyone can see your weight when you get on, will. ;-)

A Fat Pill

So true story...

This guy at work goes to me today, "Hey, did you get a fat pill?"

I am thinking to myself DID I put on a few pounds...but still how totally rude.

My colleague must've seen me looking at him with some disbelief and irritation that he would say something like that to me.

Then he gets this look on his face like, oh sh*t {oops that wasn't what I meant!}

Immediately, he reaches down to the counter in one of our common areas and picks up a Dunkin' Donut from the box that someone had brought in for Friday munchies.

He's holding up the donut to his face mouthing, "A fat pill," as he takes a big bite engulfing half the donut (or more) in that one mouth shot.

Well, I never heard of a Donkin' Donut called a fat pill before...

Probably lucky for someone that is what he was referring to (LOL). ;-)

Eat, Pray, Fly

Imagine your airplane flight with 40% more people than today's already crammed cabin...

(Pretty unimaginable right?)

Well check out these new airline seats called Skyriders, marketed by Italian company Aviointeriors.

The catch is that the Skyrider seats are only 23 inches narrow and passengers are expected to be in this crazy, half-sitting, half-standing "ergonomic" position for up to 2 hour flights.

The company's advice to larger size people: "You have to lose some weight!"

This certainly doesn't seem like a very customer-centric attitude, nor a very practical way to fly, no matter how much their spokesperson tries to "sell us the Brooklyn Bridge" on this one.

GONG! Back to the drawing board on this "innovation."
