Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "If The Shoe Fits."
I did everything right—expert fitting, high-tech measurements, a trusted brand—and still ended up with shoes that hurt. It made me think about the ten-page shidduch checklist, the dream job, and our belief that enough preparation can guarantee the right fit. Checklists matter, but they cannot promise that two people, a career, or even a pair of shoes will work together as we hoped. For me, that is where faith enters: doing our part while remembering that success ultimately comes from Heaven—and that someone else’s struggle is not proof they did something wrong.
