Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called "If You Have Your Health, You Have Everything."After my third surgery this year, there were nights when all I wanted was for the pain to ease enough to let me sleep, and I understood my parents’ words about health in a way I hadn’t before. I found myself turning to Hashem with a simple plea for healing, while feeling grateful for the people helping me through recovery. I do not pretend to know what others are going through, but I think more often now about those living with pain, ongoing treatments, and the uncertainty of not knowing when they will feel better. As I recover, I hope to hold on to that understanding—to be more patient, more willing to help, and more attentive to the people I love.
