Nice Sitting Area

Thought this was a pretty nice lobby sitting area.

Especially liked the wall hanging combining both painting and light display.

On the opposite side of the room was a glass wall/windows, and the light of the boy and girl holding hands reflected in there as well.

Had a nice relaxing and high-tech type effect on the room.

Just glad the light display didn't move; I think that would be too much and actually sickening.

Anyway, off into the sunset. ;-)

Romance Watch

What an awesome watch from Van Clef & Arpels.

Couple meet on a bridge in Paris.

Lady with umbrella on the left tells the hour.

Man on the right tells the minute.

They move together towards a kiss.

Very romantic!

Beautifully done with fairytale theme.

This Pont Des Amoureux Jour watch in rose gold and diamonds is only $122,000 (excluding sales tax).

What a bargain!  ;-)

Together 4Ever

In elementary school, the children sing about love and romance.

"The spades go.
Two lips together.
Twilight forever.
Bring back my love to me."

When 2 people are together, it's as if the angels in heaven themselves are dancing and singing.

Love seems to make everything in the world right again.

Recently, an old person from my building lost his wife of over 60 years!

I see him around and while he continues to go about doing his everyday things, I can see that he misses his wife so much.

He is broken, and his strength is gone.

I remember my grandfather and father the same way when they lost my grandmother and mother, respectively.

Completely devastating to them--their wives were their lives and what made them complete-- afterward, they were never really the same.

Our companions are truly our other halves.

When someone asked the old man from my building how he was doing late last week, he simply responded:
"I'm getting along the best that I can."

He said it was such sadness and loneliness for his wife who passed that his words literally cut right through me.

People need each other--no one is an island--and especially loving couples who have been together for decades and decades--they are for each other and with each other, even if "together forever" is just a song that children sing...it is what we all ultimately wish for. ;-)

Extra Special Delivery

I took this photo in Washington D.C. of a bicycle messenger delivery with Valentines Day treats.

He was carrying an assortment of balloons and gifts (those are hiding in the basket under the balloons)!

What do you think chocolate, flowers, or something even more romantic?

There is enough hate and hostility in the world.

It's wonderful when love is in the air and people show each other that they really care.

Going home from a day at work, and what can be nicer than someone waiting for you when you get there. ;-)

What True Love Means

A Walk To Remember--what an absolutely amazing movie.

This girl with a beautiful soul, Jamie, turns around the life of this lost boy, Landon.

She warns him not to fall in love with her, but he does.

She reveals that she has Leukemia and is no longer responding to medicine.

Landon is head over heels for her and marries her despite the prognosis.

They enjoy one summer of love before she passes.

But she has changed his life forever.

I cried like a baby at this one.

It was a movie of faith, love, and turnaround--it made me believe again. ;-)

"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude of selfish. It does not offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes." - Nicholas Sparks

What Are You Thinking?

This was a funny painting on the window of this eatery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The woman is thinking romance, but the man is thinking about his delicious sandwich.

This fits in very well with John Gray's bestseller, Men Are Mars, Women Are From Venus--where one theme is that men tend to retreat to think about or distance themselves from problems (in this case with a sandwich) and women seek to grow emotionally close.

See that happening here?

In a relationship according to Gray, you are either going to have balance in giving and receiving or you will have resentment.

Life's little lessons...better take heed.

My guess is that if this guy in picture doesn't start paying better attention to the love and attention needs of the women, he is likely to get a sandwich right over his clueless head! ;-)

Paperman, For Dannielle

Valentines Day is next week, but I wanted to share this with someone very special to me, Dannielle.

This wonderful movie short by Disney called Paperman shows the amazing chemistry between two people that draws them to each other.

I love how the man and women laugh on the train platform holding the paper with the lipstick on it and how from his office when he sees her in the skyscraper across the street, he jumps up and down waving trying to get her attention.

The movie reminds me of another favorite, The Red Balloon, where a little boy Pascal at the end is carried off by a cluster of sentient balloons, just as in this movie the man is carried off to his love by the paper airplanes he made to try to connect with her.

While I am usually not one for animation, this one captures it just right! ;-)
